I have to say, the stairs that were drawn on the plans really didn't thrill me. They would have been utilitarian but didn't have that wow factor. Nick did a lot of math and changed the design of the bottom 5 treads to give a perfect flowing arc down to the floor. I absolutely LOVE the stairs! Now the first thing you will see when you walk in the front door is this:
The first thing that came to my mind was our girls coming down those stairs to meet their prom dates. Pretty scary thoughts, huh? Sure hope we can get the house done before that time comes...
