In my hole

Spent much of Saturday in front of my wiring stuff. It's slow going, too many aspects.
It's a mess still, but holes are closing and the house is coming to life.
Sandi has been installing outlets diligently with our shared goal of having most everything hung before we start on floors.
I'm antsy to get done, but we really are months out.
C ya!

Electrical panel art

Tom commissioned Hailey to paint something on the ugly gray electrical panel cover.  This is what she came up with.

Cabinets

I have pulled the trigger on cabinets. They are in process now and should be installed the first week of May.  Guess we'd better get our tails in gear and get the tile installed. Oh, and the outlets trimmed and light switches and fixtures and security and audio and volume controls and.........

Outlets

These are for you, Scott. :-)
After trimming 237 outlets (possibly a slight exaggeration) I have come to really appreciate the stabs on the back of the outlets. Just sayin'...

It's all a matter of perspective

The house isn't really that big. Sure seems like it from these perspectives, though...

A bright spot in my day

Girls' bathroom

I get all the blame/credit for the color in the girls' bathroom. I saw a beautiful bathroom in a magazine and am trying to replicate it. :-)

Here's the color I picked. After not one, not two, but THREE coats of paint:

Still need to pick out tile for the floor...

Trimming outlets

Today has been pretty productive. The girls took the HUGE pile of paper that protected the floor during mud/tape/texture/paint out to the burn pile and we let them play with the flame thrower.  Tom and I have been working on trimming. Myself on outlets and Tom on speakers and lights.  Outlets are one of those projects that make me realize how very big this house is. But I'm not complaining. It's going to be a beautiful home when we are finished. I really want to start laying tile, but first things first. :-/

Oh, and Tom and the girls took a football break...

I love my family. :-)

Oh what a difference...

A little windex makes. I still need to take a razor blade around the edges of the windows, but just cleaning the glass makes a world of difference.

Before:
I love these windows! They are double hung and both panes flip down for easy cleaning.

Half way there:

And voila!:
We may actually get some light in here now!

The eye for....

Color. I don't have it, apparently.

Is this brown or is it purple? Actually, I don't care. But it causes malcontent with my wife therefor I have fun with it.

I hate scaffolding, but it's gone now thankfully.
I want to write all about the second/current heat pump failure but I don't like "typing" with one finger when I can beat a keyboard at about 110wpm.
And I'm tired, I have to drive to Mt Baker early early for a training gig.
G'nite!

Yet more painting fun... Plus!

Tom and I drew straws and he won so he got to paint the ceiling in the entry. I got to spot the bottom of the ladder while he masked over the stairs.  I love this man.
We didn't stop at the masking though. Oh no! The ceilings are all officially painted. Phew!

We (the girls included) also unloaded 2 pallets of tile and distributed them to their respective areas.

Tom and Hailey had already unloaded one while Amanda and I were away.  Yep. 3 pallets of tile. And that doesn't include thinset or grout. You are welcome to come help anytime, my friends! :-)
