Craftroom bath

We finally installed the toilet and vanity in the craftroom. I love how it turned out! 

Now to decorate... :-)

Toilet paper dispenser

We moved into the house in December and after the big push to get occupancy and the holidays, I think we just took a collective breath and haven't done much on the house. 

So the family was out today and I had the house to myself (finally!)... I started doing laundry and cleaning but there was a hammer in my bathroom (don't ask) and so this happened:

Using the moulding scraps, router, sliding miter & table saws, I made this:

Don't look too closely or you will have confirmation that I am NOT a carpenter. But it is functional and doesn't look too bad from a distance. :)

First Christmas Tree

Our motto is: Go big or go home...

Tom had planted trees over the years for us to use as Christmas trees.  They were great for several years until they were all too big for the mobile. This is one of them:

I believe this beast is about 18'.

Our first attempt at lights was an epic fail:

But in the end we won! :)

And next year the tree will be no taller than 10'. Period.

Cats make it home

Now that the cats are comfortable here, it's really official.

Occupancy

We had our final inspection scheduled for today but the inspector called Tom because he wasn't going to make it out until Monday. Tom said that we were really hoping to sleep in the new house this weekend. The inspector asked if the smoke alarms were all in and operational and said we can move in! He will be out on Monday to do the inspection. It helps that he has inspected everything from the start so he knows what we're doing... So darn happy tonight! And tired... Good night!
